GTA 6 Frequently Asked Questions
Straight answers to the questions people actually search about Grand Theft Auto 6 — release date, platforms, price, and what's still unknown. Every answer here reflects only what Rockstar Games or Take-Two Interactive have officially confirmed.
Release & Availability
November 19, 2026. Rockstar confirmed this date after two earlier delays (originally targeted for 2025, then May 26, 2026), and Take-Two has repeatedly reaffirmed it in investor communications since — most recently this month, with no signs of another delay.
PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S at launch. No PC or Nintendo Switch 2 version has been confirmed. See our full Platforms guide for details.
Nobody outside Rockstar can say for certain, but the signals point away from it: Take-Two has tied its fiscal-2027 revenue guidance directly to the November 19 launch, and has reaffirmed the date multiple times through 2026 rather than walking it back.
Pricing & Editions
$79.99 for the Standard Edition, $99.99 for the Ultimate Edition — a $10 increase over the previous $69.99 AAA standard, which Rockstar is positioning against the scale of the game.
It depends on how much you value cosmetics and single-player extras — the core story and missions are identical in both editions. See our Platforms & Editions breakdown for the full comparison, including that you can upgrade later instead of deciding now.
Every digital pre-order includes the Vintage Vice City Pack (a retro-themed car, garage, outfits, and weapon pattern) at no extra cost, available on purchases made before November 20, 2026.
Story & Setting
Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos, a criminal couple whose relationship is central to the story. Full details are in our Characters section.
Leonida, a fictional Florida-inspired state built around the city of Vice City. See our Map & World hub for what's confirmed so far.
Not officially confirmed. Rockstar hasn't detailed any online mode for GTA 6, though given GTA Online's success, many expect a major online component to follow after launch. We'll update this the moment it's officially announced — not before.

No — Rockstar hasn't published either list. Exactly one vehicle has an official name so far (see our Vehicles hub), and no weapon has been officially named at all (see Weapons). Most "confirmed" lists you'll find elsewhere are community identification work, not Rockstar reveals.
From November 19, 2026, launch day. See our Missions hub for why we won't publish speculative walkthroughs before then.
