GTA 6 Driving Physics: What We Actually Know

Driving physics can only be genuinely judged through hands-on play, which doesn't exist yet. Here's what trailer footage shows, and why we're not speculating beyond that.

This is the most speculative topic on our site. Driving feel is something only real hands-on play can confirm. We're deliberately keeping this article short rather than inventing detail we don't have.

What trailer footage shows

Official trailers show vehicle chases and driving sequences with a visual style more grounded than GTA 5's arcade-leaning handling, closer in tone to Red Dead Redemption 2's weightier vehicle and horse physics. This is a visual impression from trailer footage, not a technical claim about the actual handling model.

Why we're not speculating further

Driving feel -- weight, grip, damage response -- is one of the hardest things to judge accurately from trailer footage alone, and we'd rather tell you honestly that we don't know than invent specifics that sound authoritative but aren't. See our Vehicles hub for what's actually confirmed about vehicles themselves.

Frequently Asked Questions

Not confirmed. Trailer footage gives a visual impression closer to RDR2's grounded feel, but Rockstar hasn't detailed the actual handling model.
