GTA 6 Story Premise

The Story pillar covers the premise in brief; this page goes deeper on what Rockstar has actually confirmed about the setup — and draws a clear line between that and the plot details nobody outside Rockstar knows yet.

The Confirmed Setup

Rockstar's own framing: Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos are pulled into a criminal conspiracy that stretches across Leonida after an easy score goes wrong, and have to rely on each other to survive it. That's the entire confirmed premise — deliberately not much more than a starting situation, which is consistent with how narrowly Rockstar has marketed this game overall.

Two Leads, Not Three

GTA 5 built its story around three protagonists — Michael, Franklin, and Trevor — whose paths crossed but who each had independent arcs. GTA 6 restructures that entirely: two protagonists whose relationship is the story, not a backdrop to three separate ones. Rockstar's explicit "Bonnie and Clyde" framing signals a tighter, more character-driven narrative than GTA 5's ensemble satire. It's a structural choice, not just a smaller cast.

What This Page Won't Guess At

A premise is a starting point, not a plot. We don't know what happens after Jason and Lucia get pulled into the conspiracy, who's actually behind it, how the relationship is tested, or how the story ends — and we're not going to invent answers to sound more complete. That's a different, later category of content entirely.

Full Plot Overview — Coming Post-Launch

A spoiler-marked, mission-by-mission plot summary isn't something anyone outside Rockstar can honestly write before the game releases. This becomes a real page once the story can actually be played, clearly marked with spoiler warnings throughout.
